| Rod Martinez |

Rod believes “photography is the tool that lets me stop and
smell the roses”. Born in Colorado Springs and raised there and
in Cripple Creek, Colorado, he discovered photography at the age of
16. Rod moved to Grand Junction in 1987 and fell in love with the extensive
Colorado Plateau and the mountains of western Colorado. Rod has had
many exhibits in the Grand Junction and Golden area and has presented
slide shows to many different groups. He has been the Board President
of the Grand Valley Audubon Society and a program director for the
local chapter of the Colorado Mountain club. He also shares his knowledge
at Western Colorado Community College in Grand Junction and Montrose
as well as through Grand Junction Parks and Recreation. Rod also does
one-on-one tutorials as well as lead workshops into the San Juans,
eastern Utah, New Mexico and Arizona. Rod spends his time hiking in
the great Western states and has climbed 16 of Colorado’s Fourteeners. |

| Rod has taken landscape photographs for over 40 years. He has taught
classes and taken fellow photographers on fieldtrips/workshops for
over 6 years since he has retired from Sears. |

| Rod has taught hundreds how to use their digital or film camera and
how to use digital imaging software, such as Photoshop Elements, to
enhance their images. |

Rod has made over 40 trips into North and South
Coyote Buttes so he can capture this geologic beauty at different
times of the day and
times of the year. Rod has over 2000 fabulous photos of this area.
