This comprehensive course is designed for those who want a complete course on all aspects of digital photography. This course will show you how easy it is to get the most out of the digital process. You'll learn key terms and concepts as you'll quickly get to the heart of the matter. You'll begin with how to capture great pictures by getting the most from your digital camera and all of its features. The course includes a fieldtrip to take photos which will be critiqued in the course on how to take better photos as well as how to fix them. Then you will go to the computer side of digital photography.

| This course is 2 three hour hands-on sessions filled to the brim on how to get great photos no matter what type of digital camera you own. In this class you can use your camera to grasp the many features your camera may offer so you too can take great photos. Learn how and when to use different exposures, shutter speeds, f-stops, white balance and flash; how to get the best and most from your digital camera and flash cards, as well as the best way to transfer and save your images to the computer. Learn why resolution is a key factor in getting great photos. Learning how to effectively use histograms to properly expose your pictures. This class is hands on. Rod will help you find and use the different features your camera has to offer. Bring your camera and manual along with fully charged batteries so you can experiment with your camera and get professional tips on how to take great photos. Class includes over 55 pages of easy to understand useful notes. This 6.0 hour class will take you past the basics of using your digital camera. This class is for those who own a digital S.L.R. (single lens reflex) camera. Rod will spend hands on time with you explaining and using the many features offered on this type of camera. Rod will also go through the many different menu functions and how they can be used to capture great photos. Rod will also explain and show many different types of equipment (including different size lenses) so the student can decide if and when to enhance their cameras ability to take different and exciting photos.
Part of this class will be used to take photos using the different features so a student can see what their camera is capable of doing.
It is recommended that you have all ready taken the course Using Your Digital Camera or have a good basic working knowledge of your camera.

You will learn more than the basics as Rod shows you many creative features of this very versatile and affordable software program. You are working at your own computer. Knowledge gained is applicable to the use of Photoshop as well. Recommend that you have a version of Elements or Photoshop on your computer at home so you can practice in between classes. Rod demonstrates the use flatbed scanners: how to optimize the image in the software and then print out the images. Printing your photos is an excellent way for you to get your photos immediately. Excellent class if you are thinking about getting a new scanner or printer or if you have them, but are not sure how to get the best results. If you are tired of mediocre photos from your printer this is the class to show you how to get the best results. This hands-on class will let you see your entire digital photo collection in one place, automatically organized the way that works best for you. Rod will show you how to find photos by date in the calendar view. With hands on training you will be able to use innovative key word tags to instantly gather and find your photos of people, places, things, etc. as well as where those photos are stored. You will learn how to create photo albums, cards, calendars and more. With this software you can keep your photos and creations safe by burning them onto CDs. No additional software is needed. This three-session plus fieldtrip class will show you how to take pictures that are photography "winners". Rod will emphasize basic and advanced techniques of composition, time of day and how to get the most from your camera whether it is a 35mm SLR, "point and shoot" or a digital camera. Learn how to use lighting to get great photos of landscapes, garden and/or wild flowers, night photos, panoramic photos and more. Rod will give you tips on how to take great people, sports and animal pictures. We will talk about and touch some of the many different pieces that can aid you in getting "Winning" Photos. Rod will spend part of one session showing photos of great photogenic spots in our area and then tell you where they are and when to shoot the photos. There will also be a 3 to 4 hour field trip where the location will be based on the desires of the students. A review of student's slides, photos or digital images will be conducted on the last day to highlight the positives of the student's images and/or areas that could be enhanced to get a "winning picture".
Rod has been the Photographer of The Year from the local camera club for three consecutive years. This class is perfect for the person who wants to go beyond the basics of photography to a level of taking "winning" and fun pictures.

A very fun class! Student should have taken the Basic Elements class or have a general understanding of this program or Photoshop. Recommend you have Elements or Photoshop on your computer.
